Proceeds to benefit two local non-profit organizations supporting women: Impact Bay Area and Art of Yoga Project
Palo Alto – February 2013 – In conjunction with V-Day.org and One Billion Rising, Sofia University (formerly Institute of Transpersonal Psychology) presents, “A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant and a Prayer,” a performance honoring the worldwide V-Day movement. V-Day is a call-to-action event with the goal to unite those around the globe, demonstrating solidarity and commitment to ending violence against women and girls.
“A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant and a Prayer” will take place on Saturday, March 2 in the Sofia University Auditorium in Palo Alto from 7 to 8:30. As part of Sofia University’s Public Programs, this event is open to the community at large and tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. Proceeds benefit the following local non-profit organizations: Impact Bay Area and The Art of Yoga Project.
Impact Bay Area reduces violence and promotes healing by teaching self-defense, personal safety, violence prevention, and empowerment to adults, young adults, teens, and kids.
Art of Yoga Project leads teenage girls in the California juvenile justice system toward accountability to self, others and community by providing practical tools to affect behavioral change.
